Wilson- Funeral Service for Mamie Ethel (Brecheen) LaRoche, 80, of Wilson, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating and Zane Gray assisting. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery.


Mamie was born December 9, 1943, at Huntsville, TX, to the late Mr. Wilson Evan Brecheen and Mrs. Mamie Ethel (Penny) Brecheen. She departed this life Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home in Wilson.


Mamie was raised at Hankamer, TX and Anahuac, TX, where she attended school but moved to Comanche her sophomore year where she graduated High School with the class of 1962. She began her working years at the Comanche Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where she was employed for around two years. In 1964, Mamie became the wife to Mr. David Michael LaRoche, a soldier at Fort Sill, and the couple made their home in Duncan. They were blessed with three children, Tammy Lynn, Deborah Jean, and David, Jr. Mamie was later employed as a dispatcher for the Healdton Police Department for many years.  David, Sr. preceded her in death on September 1, 1993. After his passing, she spent her time taking care of her grandbaby, Kimberly, which helped her cope with the passing of her husband. Mamie remarried in 1995, to Mr. Billy Don Stinson who also preceded her in death on December 17, 2010. She loved sewing and quilting but most of all spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids as they were the highlight of her life.


Also preceding her in death are her parents and 3 brothers, Wilson, Jr., Robert, and John Brecheen.


Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Dixon of Wayne and Debbie Jackson of Gene Autry; 5 sisters, Janice Hammett of Ardmore, Linda Keck and husband Gary of Healdton, Loyce Freeman and husband Randy of Healdton, Joyce Skelton of Healdton, and Theresa Barton and husband Randy of El Reno; grandchildren, Kimberly Allen and husband Jeremy, Rebekkah Radford and husband Darren, Tara Williams, Brian LaRoche, and Desiree LaRoche; 14 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.


Pallbearers will be Charles Freeman, James Keck, Jason Freeman, Willy Skelton, Tommy Skelton, and Tommy Jackson.


Honorary bearers are Timothy Keck, Phillip Keck, Darren Radford, Jeremy Allen, Chris Keck, and Chance Roberts.


Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday evening, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
