Marie Norton - Howeth

Ratliff City - Funeral services for Mrs. Marie (Christian)Norton-Howeth, 82 of Ratliff City are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Living Word Tabernacle in Pruitt City with Bro. Eugene Christian officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Velma Cemetery in Velma. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Marie was born July 14, 1932 at Graham to the late Mr. Sam Francis Christian and Mrs. Mary (Butler) Christian.She departed this life Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Ardmore.

Marie was raised in the Ratliff City area initially attending school at Eaves and later at Graham. She married Mr. Troy Odell Norton Dec. 27, 1950 at Gainesville, TX. They owned and operated several gas station stores in the area and remained residents of Ratliff City for most of their lives.

Odell preceded her in death in 1997. A few years later she met and married Mr. Ancel Howeth and he also preceded her in death in 2003. Also preceding her in death is her parents; daughter, Dorthy Stephens-2010; one infant sister; two other sisters, Melvina Herrell and Evelyn Pierce; and brothers, George, James, Leroy and Donald Christian.

Survivors include her two sons, Henry Norton and wife Tammy of Ratliff City and Jimmy Norton of Pruitt City; brother, William Christian and wife Mandora of Ardmore; sisters, Betty Carter and husband David of Graham and Shirley Thornburg and husband Kenny of Healdton; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and other family.

Casket Bearers will be Adrian Melton, Sam Christian, Carl Chriswell, Clifton Christian, Danny Morrow and Steven Christian.

Honorary Bearers will be Jessie Herrell, Robert Herrell, Leon Wright and Tony Norton.
