Michael Allen Murray

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mr. Michael Allen Murray, 44, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Zach Potts officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton.


Michael was born on August 7, 1974 in Ardmore to Mr. Richard Allen Murray and Mrs. Danna Jane (Theaux) Murray. He departed this life on Monday March 18, 2019 at the hospital in Healdton.


Michael was raised in Healdton and lived there his entire life. He attended Healdton Schools where he was very active in sports. He loved playing football, and made the 1st team all district linebacker, honorable mention All State and played in the East and West Senior Bowl game . He also ran track and was very successful running the 400 meter relay, winning State in 1991. Michael graduated with the Healdton High School class of 1992. He was always a very accomplished musician having the ability to play multiple instruments including the tuba, guitar and drums. He could read any and all music and could play any song, after hearing it just one time. Michael had been a member in several bands throughout his life. Michael had worked most recently for Brady's Welding and Machine as a truck driver. He will be remembered as a loving and generous person who had a unique gift of making others laugh and always had a high concern for everyone. Michael was a member of First Baptist Church of Healdton.


Preceding him in death is his grandparents, Dan and Juanita Theaux and George Brock; a nephew, Brody Archer; and a best friend, Jeff Polzien.


Michael is survived by his daughter, Lauren Michael Murray of Healdton; parents, Allen and Danna Murray of Healdton; granddaughter, Leah Jones of Healdton; brothers, Steven Murray and his wife Shelly of Wilson, Danny Murray of Healdton; grandmother, Evelyn Brock of Healdton; his daughters mother, Carol Murray of Healdton; 3 nephews, 1 niece, and 4 great nieces; Many other relatives and a host of friends.


Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Slawson, Michael Miller, Brian Rice, Larry Covey, Calvin Voyles, and Deron Picklesimer.


Honorary Pallbearers will be Steven Murray, Danny Murray, Bryce Murray, Blane Murray, Zach (Buster) Murray, Steve Payne, and Wayne Baird.


Family visitation is scheduled for Friday from 6-8:00 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
