Mildred Elizabeth Harris

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth (Chapman) Harris, 95, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Lone Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kendall Harris, Rev. Lonnie Harris, Rev. Kevin Harris, and Rev. Gary Dotson officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Mildred was born on March 28, 1920 to the late Mr. Hardy Edwin Chapman and Mrs. Loma (Long) Chapman at Eldorado, TX. She passed from this life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Wilson, OK.

She was primarily raised at Walters graduating from high school there. Mildred married Mr. Bevie Clio “B.C.” Harris on Oct. 7, 1939 at Walters. Together they moved to Texas following B.C.’s oilfield work. Mildred kept the household and was a devoted homemaker. They retired to a farm north of Ringling where they enjoyed raising a garden and cattle. Mildred loved to crochet pillowcases in her free time. She was a member of the Asphaltum Assembly of God Church of Ringling.

Preceding her in death is her Parents; husband B.C. Harris on Aug. 21, 2005; infant daughter, Betty Ann Harris; son, Ronald T. Harris; son in law, Lynn Fletcher and daughter in law, Mary Lee Harris; daughter, Sharon Fletcher; Brother, Willis “Bud” Chapman; Sisters, Edna Chapman, Ethel Chapman, Nelda Roberts, Annie Richie, Ruby Holt, and Winnie Owings; Grandson, Caleb Harris

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Adkins and husband Jerry of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Terry Fletcher and wife Judy, Kim Harman and husband Kent, Curtis Fletcher, Jeff Adkins and wife Genna, Kevin Harris and wife Felicia, Mike Adkins and wife Melissa, Kendall Harris and wife Jennifer; fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jeff Adkins, Mike Adkins Terry Fletcher, Curtis Fletcher, Kent Harman, Kyle Harman, and Jason Fletcher.

Honorary Pallbearers are Noah Harris, Joshua Harris, Devon Harris, Grayson Harris, Edge Adkins, Bode Adkins, Dylan Adkins, and Jagger Adkins.

Family Visitation will be held 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at the Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
