Mildred Marie Tomasheski

February 24, 1928 — September 5, 2023

Velma - A Gathering for Reflections and Memories to be shared for Mrs. Mildred Marie (McDonald) Tomasheski, 95 of Velma is scheduled between 2:00-4:00 P.M., Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Mildred was born in Tupelo, OK on February 24th, 1928 . She was raised by her loving parents, Rena and Claude Whisenhunt.  She departed from this life peacefully with her granddaughters, Heather and Misty Dawn, by her side on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 in Marlow, OK.  She grew up in Lindsay and graduated with the Class of 1946. Shortly after, she married Mr. James Everett (Jimmy) Whaley and together they were blessed with three children, Patricia, Jimmie Gail and Larry.  Mildred owned and operated Millie's Cafe in Countyline and Velma. People would come to her cafes even if it was standing room only and there was a long wait. She enjoyed fishing, reading, crocheting and the occasional trip to the casino. However, she was most happy when spending time with her significant other, JL McMeans and her grandbabies.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, James Everett (Jimmy) Whaley, Lester Milson, and John Tomasheski; daughter, Jimmie Gail Sitton; son, Larry James Whaley; and a sister, Jessie Millers.

Mildred is survived by her significant other, J.L. McMeans of the home; her daughter, Patricia Marie Marchesani and husband John of Florida; sisters, Wynell Moore of California, Coleen Bertino of Washington State, Judy McAlister of Florida, and Chris Jones of Alaska; Grandchildren, Jimmy, Donna, Sharon, Jimmie Sue, Sherry, Misty Dawn, Lawson, and Heather; numerous great and great great grandchildren whom she loved dearly; favorite grandson-in-law Jerry; and close friends Jane Strickland and Angela Wiles with whom she shared a special bond.
