Neta W Jones

Ratliff City - Services for Mrs. Neta W. (Thomas) Jones, 95 are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Glynn Baker officiating and Dub Bohannon assisting. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.

Neta was born August 11, 1927 in Cox City, OK to the late Mr. James Ernest Thomas and Mrs. Wilie Lee (Wright) Thomas. She departed from this life on Monday, November 14, 2022 in Shawnee. Neta was the last surviving Thomas of her family.

Neta was raised in the Southern Oklahoma area attending Cox City Elementary School. She met Alfred for the 1st time at his sister Mary's house and they were united in marriage on August 6, 1945. They were married over 50 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ratliff City. Neta was a devoted homemaker and wonderful Godly Mother. She was a terrific cook and was in the Carter County Home Demonstration cookbook with several recipes. At church she loved children in Sunday school class, helping them learn verses and hymns about Jesus.

Neta was a faithful wife as well, marrying at the age of 17 until Alfred’s death 50 years later, on March 16, 1996. They resided on family property in Ratliff City from 1956 until 2016 when she moved to assisted living. Her faith in God was always strong and she held fast to her trust in Him all the rest of her life. Some of her favorite interests were preparing meals for her family, sewing dresses for her granddaughters, music, watching America’s Got Talent TV show and when she attended the Ratliff City Senior Citizens Center.

In addition to her husband Alfred Lee, also preceding her in death were her parents; 3 sisters, Leona, Virginia and Nora Lee; and 4 brothers, H.P, Marvin, Gene and James.

Neta is survived by her daughter, Ramona Murray and husband Gary of Shawnee; sons, Kenny Jones and wife Paula of Edmond, Lesley A. Jones and wife Rebecca of Ratliff City, and David E. Jones and wife Tammy of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Keith Murray and wife Julie, Brenda Murray and her daughter Michela; Amanda Little and husband David and their children Morgan and Peyton; Michelle Jones and her children Cale, Camryn, Callen, Michael Jones, Jeremy Jones, and wife Tracy and their children Parker, Mabry and Malorree; Jonathan Jones and wife Kimber and their children Jackson, Jacoby and Jerick; Megan Jones, Caitlin Ryznar and husband Grant and their children Kadence, Payton, Grey and Baker; Lindsey Daniels and husband Kevin and their children Brenham and Sunny; and Hunter Jones and numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Grandsons

Honorary bearer is Lonnie Carter.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
