Obie Daniel "Danny" Morriss

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mr. Obie Daniel “Danny” Morris, 55, of Ringling is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church of Ringling with Rev. Chad Barron officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery of Ringling. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Danny was born February 1, 1957 at Childress, TX to the late Mr. Clarence Edward Morriss and Mrs. LuEllen Goldie (Kennedy) Morriss. He departed this life Thursday December 13, 2012 at his home in Ringling.

Danny was raised as 1 of 12 children mainly residing in Yucca Valley, CA not moving to Ringling until 1974. He served honorably in the Army National Guard for 2 years. Initially he worked in the Oilfield before becoming employed for Joe Roberts Welding of Ringling. There he was employed for several years. Lastly he was employed for Roy Neils, Lone Grove Discount Hardware as a store clerk. He and the former Mrs. Deanna May Lawrence were united in marriage on April 25, 1997 at Gainesville, TX . They shared many wonderful times together. Danny loved working and also enjoyed collecting Elvis Memorabilia and Eight Track Tapes. He was a member of the Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church of Ringling.

Preceding him in death is his Parents; Mr. Clarence Edward Morriss and Mrs. LuEllen Goldie (Kennedy) Morriss.

Survivors include Wife Deanna of the home; Children, Nancy Clark and husband Eric, Donna Ragsdale and husband Melvin, Danny Morriss, Jr., Shannon Smith, Bobby Roundtree, Tara Smith and Laura Stoker and husband Joe; Siblings, Caroline Ellis, Georgia Hurst and husband Butch, Sonny Morriss and wife Joyce, Fred Morriss and wife Rhea, Larry Morriss, Nancy Jackson, Sue Bailey and husband David, J.R. Morris and wife Carolyn, Frances Thompson and husband Larry, George Morriss, and Cindy Orr; 15 Grandchildren, numerous other family, adopted family such as Becky her son Sawyer, and Ron Wilcox, and church family and friends.

Pallbearers are Bobby Roundtree, Danny Morriss, Jr., J.R. Morriss, Sonny Morriss, Larry Morriss, Melvin Ragsdale, Sr., Melvin Morriss and Ron Wilcox.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Ringling
