Ardmore- A “Hawaiian Heritage" Celebration of Life Service for Patricia “Patti” Angeline Mounce of Ardmore is planned for 2:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2024 at the Generations Church of Ardmore, located within Thompsons Square, with Pastor Jeremy Berryhill officiating. Cremation Services are under the care and guidance of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Patti was born on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 1951 at Honolulu, Hawaii. Soon afterwards she was delivered into the loving arms of her adopted parents, Al and Saranell (Lewis) Jacobson. Al was serving in the military and was stationed at Hawaii at the time. Patti departed this life Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at a hospital in Ardmore at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Her family lived in various parts of the United States, with the majority of years spent residing at Aurora, CO. That is where Patti graduated from High School and would continue to reside until moving to Oklahoma in 1975. She was a resident of the Ardmore area ever since and had served as a reserve police officer at both Healdton and Lone Grove police departments. Patti also loved serving as an area Storm Chaser, reporting her observations directly to chief meteorologist, Gary England. She and her children shared many lifelong memories together while battling the storms together.
Throughout her years of public service, Patti worked closely with the Ardmore Emergency Management System and was a co-originator of the public transportation service “SORTS” which helps numerous individuals still to this day. She loved attending church at the Generations Church of Ardmore and cherished all of her family and church family hugely. Patti had lastly worked as a bookkeeper doing accounting services and for leisure, enjoyed attending Senior Dances at the Springdale School.
Those preceding her in death were her parents, Al and Saranell Jacobson; her, birthmother Marie Glendon of Hawaii; husband, Stanley Ray Mounce; former spouse, Oscar Allen Young and stepson, Allen Ray Young.
Survivors include her son, Allen Jacobson and his wife Janice of Union City; daughter, Petra Cox and husband David of Ardmore; stepchildren, Rita Nelson, Allen Young, Allene Young and Christopher Bilek; grandchildren, Glenna, Daniel, Cody, Rickell, Samantha, Shaun, Jonathan, Talia, Jazli and Yosef; 14 great grandchildren with numerous other family and friends.
