Reona Fay Griffin

July 22, 1961 — February 22, 2023

Milo – Funeral Services for Reona Fay (Doughty) Griffin is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Milo Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow to Milo Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Reona was born on July 22, 1961 to Ramon (Raymond) and Nonie in Ardmore, OK. She departed from this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Oklahoma City. Reona grew up on the family land that would later become named (Doughty hill) surrounded by her family including her grandparents, uncles, and cousins. When she would speak of her fondest childhood memories, she would always speak of playing outside in the pasture and “her” creek which she would later build her house beside, and watch her grandchildren play in that same creek. Reona would become a mother when she had her first little girl, Kyla Renee’ (Kelley) Jones, and then her second daughter Ramie Marie (Kelley) Dickinson. If you knew her, then you knew she lived for her girls, and she loved and supported them endlessly.

When the girls were in upper elementary school, she would move back to her hometown and reunite with Jamie Griffin at Fox Church. In 1995, they would marry and start their life together raising two teenage girls and building their home on Doughty hill.

In recent years, she focused on family including her 3 grandchildren: Matiney and Mattox Dickinson (children of Matt and Ramie Dickinson); Jackson Jones (child of Jon and the belated Kyla Jones). She would draw strength and happiness being around her grandchildren. Especially after her greatest heartbreak, losing her eldest daughter Kyla to cancer.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ramon (Raymond) Doughty of Fox; her brother, Weldon Doughty of Fox; her sister, Ollie (Doughty) Edwards of Fox; and her daughter, Kyla Renee’ (Kelley) Jones of Moore.

She is survived by her husband, Jamie Griffin of Fox; her daughter and son-in-law, Ramie and Matthew Dickinson of Healdton; son-in-law, Jonathon Jones of Lindsey; grandchildren, Matiney and Mattox Dickinson of Healdton; and Jackson Jones of Lindsey; her mother, Nonie Nipper of Fox; her brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Sandy Doughty of Fox; brother-in-law, Mike Edwards of Norman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Doug and Kathie Baker of Cushing, Robbie and Clydie Griffin of Healdton, Nolan Albrightson of El Reno; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephew and nieces, cousins, friends, and church family members.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Griffin, Doug Baker, Raymond Doughty, Matthew Doughty, Josh Griffin, Matt Dickinson, Jon Jones, and Creed Nelson. Honorary bearers will be Nolan Albrightson and Mike Edwards.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton.
