Rick Lynn Golden

Services for Rick Lynn Golden, 67, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating.

Rick was born August 7, 1956, at Wilson, to Mr. Jimmy Don Golden and Sondra (McDaniel) White. He departed this life Sunday, August 20, 2023, at his home in Ardmore.

Rick was raised in Wilson, attending school at Turner where he graduated with the High School Class of 1974. As a young boy he farmed peanuts with his granddad just north of Rubottom. Rick gained a bonus father when his mother married Mr. Harold White. He and Rick had a very close bond and loved spending time together.

 Rick was very mechanical and a good handyman from working on his own vehicles to helping build custom homes. He also trained in Taekwondo earning his Black Belt, and he was very proud of this accomplishment. He moved to Odessa to work with his dad and learn the trade of Newspaper Printing. He went on to print the Odessa American Newspaper. In 2003, Rick moved to Marietta and then later to Ardmore, where he used his trade while employed for the Ardmoreite Newspaper. He was working as a Security Guard for the Winstar Casino in Thackerville when he was in a terrible auto accident in 2015.  He miraculously recovered, but it ended his working career.   He spent his final days enjoying watching his grandchildren grow up and kicking back to watch old westerns.  

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Carl and Norva Jean McDaniel and Almeda and Lee White; father, Jimmy Don; Step-father, Harold and cousin, Craig Smith.

Survivors include Rick’s mother, Sondra White of Marietta; daughters, Brittney Hall and husband Casey of Lone Grove and Beth Golden of Edmond; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kross, and Kristian Hall; Aunt, Barbara Tolbert of Wilson; numerous other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be David Dedek, David Flanagan, Terry Burch, Ron Thompson, Jay Goode, and Casey Hall.

Honorary bearers are Ricks grandsons, Kross and Kristian Hall.

Family visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
