Robert Daniel "Danny" Dumos

Graveside services for Robert Daniel “Danny” Dumos, 69, of Velma, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Fairlawn Cemetery Pavilion in Comanche, OK with Mario Pineda officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray funeral Home in Velma.

Danny was born May 30, 1954, at Duncan to the late Mr. William Daniel Dumos and Mrs. Margie Imogene (Willford) Gildon. He departed this life Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home in Velma.

Danny was raised in Duncan, where he attended school, graduating with the Comanche High School class of 1972. He went on to further his education at Cameron University where he proudly admitted that he excelled in bowling. Danny married the love of his life, the former Miss Christy Pass, on May 6, 1976, at the Prairie Hill Church of Christ in Meridian. The couple made their home at Meridian and shortly after moved to Addington where they worked for the 4J Ranch. Five years later, Danny went to work for Flying J and was employed there for 12 years. Danny and Christy moved to Alma where they began their very own ranch operation. The couple made their home in Velma where they currently resided. Danny began his work in the oilfield as a pumper, along with operating a backhoe, and continued to run his ranch. He just retired from his pumping position earlier this year. Danny was an avid hog hunter, raising hog dogs, training and selling them.

Preceding him in death are his parents, William and Imogene; Parents-in-law, Richard and Christine Pass; brother-in-law, James Pass.

He is survived by his wife, Christy Dumos of the home; daughter, Danielle Adams and husband Cody of Maysville; sons, Chad Dumos and wife Shalin of Ratliff City and Clay Dumos of Velma; sister, JeanAnn Martin and husband Randy of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Shilo Thompson-Dumos, Saige Dumos, Henslee Dumos, and Will Adams; nieces and nephews, Lyndal Morgan and wife Delisa, China Nichols, Kellie Haskins and husband Matt, Shelby Lam and husband Jonathan, Amanda Sanders and husband Weldon, Kiera Miller and husband Jozey, Rylie Pass, Morgan Pass, Ryder Pass, Jennifer Riley and husband Shaun, Chris McCubbin and wife Heather; sisters-in-law, Becky Sanders and Debbie Pass-Morgan; brother-in-law, Todd Pass and wife Amy; numerous other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Mashore, Clay Dumos, Cody Adams, Todd Pass, Jacob Webb, and Shane Jones.

Honorary bearers are Chad Dumos, Aaron Bratcher, Pat McClanahan, Dakota Lynn, Edgar Sierra, Cecil Anderson, Leeroy Anderson, David Stone, John Johnston, Elmer Skeen, Joe Sides, Hoss Burris, Johnny Rue, Freddie Tilley, Nicky Carroll, Paul Ray Doyle, Brent Morgan, and Jerry Strickland.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday evening at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
