Robert Franklin Barbour

Robert Franklin Barbour was born to Caroline and Frank Barbour on June 29, 1930 in McMann, Okla. He was greeted in heaven on December 16, 2023. Bob attended Healdton High School and then Oklahoma A&M where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. In 1955 Bob married Dolores Dawson Barbour. They were married 55 years before her death in 2005.

Bob served his country in the Army, and following his marriage to Dolores, they lived in Stillwater, Duncan, Perry, and Lucein, Okla., and for seven years in Maracaibo, Venezuela where Bob worked for Haliburton Industries. They later made Harrison, Ark. their permanent home. Bob opened his own accounting firm, maintained a farm in the Harrison area, and was a member of First Baptist Church. They also maintained a home in Tulsa, Okla. where Bob worked for American Airlines. In 2011, Bob relocated to the Kansas City, Mo. area to be near family.

Aviation was one of Bob’s lifelong interests. He maintained a private pilot’s license for many years. He also enjoyed genealogy, history and ballroom dancing as hobbies.

Bob will be remembered for his practical knowledge, loyalty to friends and family, gifted intelligence, sense of humor, and commitment to Christ.

Survivors include two sisters, Jo Ann Butler (Pete) and Phyllis Brown, nieces Cindy Decker (Bill) and Donna Butler Douglas (Gary), one nephew, D.J. Brown (Karen), numerous great nieces and nephews, and one great, great nephew.

A private burial will be held.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
