Rodney Jack Shipman

Healdton - Memorial Services for Mr. Rodney "Rod" Jack Shipman, 65 of Healdton is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton with Travis Kelley officiating.

Rod was born November 21, 1953 in Edmonton, Alberta Canada to the late Mr. Edmond Joel Shipman and Mrs. Ruth Marian (Ravnsburg) Shipman. He departed from this life on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his home in Healdton.

Rod was raised in Canada until the age of 9 moving to Wyoming. He attended school some in Wyoming before moving to Oklahoma where he graduated from Healdton High School in 1972. Rod married Barbara Burns in January of 1973 and from this union, they were blessed with a son, E.J. Shipman, II. Soon after, Rod enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1973 and served for 4 years when he was honorably discharged. Rod was an electrician working for Sooner Electric. He had worked for them for 36 years. Rod married the former Ollie Jones on June 16, 1987 in Belton, TX making their home in Healdton. He enjoyed fishing, riding ATV's, growing exotic vegetables and he always told a good joke. Rod also enjoyed all genres of music and going to the farm in Mulhall, OK spending time with the Dudek family. But most of all, Rod had the biggest heart. he was always willing to help anyone or anything.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Wes Shipman; brothers in law, Bill Jones, Robert Lesley, and Charles Wayne Chatham.

Rod is survived by his loving wife, Ollie of the home; sons, E.J. Shipman and wife Whitney of Tishomingo and Logan Shipman of Healdton; daughter, Tabitha Coffman and husband Jerrod of Healdton; grandchildren, Tyler, Colton and Jade Coffman and Jesse, Sidney and Shelby Shipman; sisters, Sandra Copeland and husband Herman of Wilson and Tracy Kelley and husband Travis of Healdton; and by a host of other family and friends.
