Roy O Tynes

August 18, 1947 — June 20, 2012

Wilson - Cremation Memorial Services for Mr. Roy O. Tynes, 64, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Ron Elmore officiating and son Rob Tynes providing the eulogy. A private inurnment will be held at Hewitt Cemetery following the services.

Roy was born August 18, 1947 at Ardmore to Robert O. Tynes and Barbara Lee (Genn) Tynes. He departed from this Earth June 20,2012 at Madill joining the Tynes Reunion in Heaven.

Roy was a member of First Baptist Church in Wilson. Roy always got his sisters up and got them ready for church on Sunday morning and was there every time the doors opened. He was a boy scout in Troup 43 of Wilson, Oklahoma. In high school Roy played the drums in a band with some of his high school classmates. He loved good music and fast cars. After graduation Roy joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Alamogordo New Mexico at White Sands. After training Roy was an air plane mechanic in Germany and New Mexico. It was in New Mexico he met and married Elia Barela, together they had one son, Robert Tynes and a daughter Holly Tynes.

Roy was an excellent mechanic and welder. After service he worked for Ace Pletcher at Vada in Springer Oklahoma as a drafting engineer building tanks for the oil field. Roy was also employed by Texaco Oil CO in Healdton Okla and self employed as a truck driver where along the road he made so many friends.

Roy never met a stranger and would give you his last dime and the shirt off his back if you were in need. He enjoyed visiting with his buddies in Wilson and spending time at lake Texoma with his Cousin Buddy Tynes.

Preceding him in death was his father Robert Tynes of Wilson.

Survivors include a son Robert of Houston , Texas; daughter Holly d. Tynes of Roswell New Mexico, grandson Gabriel Tynes , Mother, Barbara Tynes of Ardmore Village, sister Robbie Tynes of Ardmore, Elaine Sullivan of Wilson, nephews Russell Billingsley, Ryan Billingsley and Erron Gunter.

Family visitation will be held Monday evening, June 25, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
