Ruby Lavern Phillips

June 19, 1939 — January 13, 2021

Ruby Lavern Phillips, of Ringling, departed this life on Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 25 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 A.M. Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ Gospel Tabernacle in Ringling with Bro. Lafon Glenn and Bro. Billy Holder officiating. Interment will be at the Phillips Family Cemetery north of Ringling. Services are under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Ruby was born to the late Mr. Mulbert and Mrs. Susie (Emerson) Apala on June 19, 1939 in Ringling. She had lived her entire life in this area.

Ruby attended school at Mountain Home until it consolidated with Ringling and then she attended High School at Ringling and graduated there. She and Mr. Emet Phillips were united in marriage on September 20, 1960 in Gainesville, TX. They made their home North of Ringling where they would raise they daughter and grandchildren. Ruby loved being out on the farm feeding cows and working beside Emet. She was a devoted homemaker and an excellent cook. She loved spending time with her family. Ruby was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ Gospel Tabernacle in Ringling.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emet Phillips on June 18, 2015; brothers, June Apala, Tom Apala, Gilbert Apala and Pat Apala;sisters, Bonnie Griffith, Wanda Safford, Ruth Jackson, Vivian Gordon, and Billie Griffith.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Stoker and her husband Jimmy of Ringling; grandchildren, Phillip Wade and his wife Katie of Ringling, Lexi Moss and her husband Blake of Ringling, and Kaedon Wade of Ringling; great grandchildren, Baxton Wade, Blakelee Moss, Bexlee Moss, and one on the way, Zander Wade; Bonus great grandchildren, Aiyanna Stoker, Bentley Stoker, and Abby Stoker; sister, Shirley Lemons of Madill; many other bonus kids and grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jason Bivings, Phillip Wade, Kaedon Wade, Sterling McGuire, Tony Apala, and Clint Blakmore.

Honorary Pallbearers are all her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
