Samuel "Lanie" Lance Mcgowan

Ringling - Mr. Samuel Lance "Lanie" McGowan, 68 of Ringling, was born December 28, 1951 in Ringling, OK to the late Mr. Sammy Fayne "Barney" McGowan and Mrs. Essie Colleen (Lance) Grant. He departed from this life on July 28, 2020 in Ardmore. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

Lanie enjoyed spending time with his son, Jayme playing guitar. He also enjoyed his time with his family and friends. Lanie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era from 1969-1983 in the 82nd Airborne and 509 Infantry. He had taught autobody at Vo-Tech and had also worked at Michelin at one time. Lanie was a member of the Jesus Christ Gospel Tabernacle.

Preceding him in death by his parents; and step dad, Marvin Grant.

Lanie is survived by his son, Jayme McGowan and Tina of Ringling; sister, Connie Blankenship of Washington DC; brother, Terry Grant and Jaree of Ardmore; grandson, Maylon James Hardin of Sulphur and by a host of other family and friends.
