Sandra Elaine Hernandez

A visitation and viewing time is scheduled for Sandra Elaine Hernandez, 47 this Sunday Jan. 20, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson. Cremation services will follow at Alexander Gray Crematory of Ringling.

Sandra Elaine Hernandez was born on January 7, 1972 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the second daughter of Félix Hernandez, Jr. and Sally Hernandez. She left this earth on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at her father’s home in Wilson, Oklahoma with her two sons by her side. She was 47 years old.

Sandra was raised in various parts of California, but called Healdsburg, CA, her home before moving to Oklahoma in 1998 to be closer to her father and to start her career in law enforcement — a career in which she was able to work in a number of different positions. She worked as a reserve police officer for the Wilson Police Department before joining the Carter County Detention Center. She then moved to Shattuck where she became the Jail Administrator for Ellis County and then ended her career as a correctional officer at the William Key Correctional Facility at Fort Seal.

More than anything, Sandra loved being with her two boys and her family. She is survived by her two sons, Theodore Rea and Daniel Rea (granddaughters Lena and Lila Rea), father, Felix Hernandez, Jr. (Darlene Hernandez), mother, Sally Hernandez, sister, Nancy Hernandez (Don Feeney), brother, Felix Hernandez, III (nephew, Jackson Hernandez, niece, Emma Hernandez, Janae Kozlowski), brother, Francisco Hernandez (niece, Desirae Hernandez, nephew, Jacob Hernandez, niece, Danielle Hernandez), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members, and friends, including Ted Rea, Amy Hernandez, April Hernandez, and many, many others.

Sandra will be extremely missed by all those who loved and knew her best.
