Shirley Jean Teague

Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Jean (Harkins) Teague, 74, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. April 17, 2013 at the Healdton First Baptist Church with Grandson Rev. Michael Johnson and Rev. Kevin Pridemore officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Shirley was born December 31, 1938 at Ardmore to the late Mr. William Edward Harkins and Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth (Higdon) Harkins. She departed this life Friday, April 12, 2013 at a healthcare facility in Norman.

Shirley was raised at Healdton attending school here. She graduated from Healdton High School in 1957 and soon after married Mr. Dewey Dale Teague on June 10, 1957 at Healdton. They continued to reside at there and Shirley soon became a devoted Mother and housewife. She took pleasure in being with her children and grandchildren very much. She enjoyed the many trips watching her son Chris rope and rodeo. She never missed attending all the grandchildren s school activities and loved her flower gardens especially her favorite flower hydrangeas. She also enjoyed her pastimes camping and fishing with her family and adored her current canine companion Roxie. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Healdton.

Her husband Dewey preceded her in death on February 27, 2011. Also preceding her in death were her Parents; a Grandson, Scott Smith June 14, 2003; Infant Sister, Dorothy Harkins and Brother, Jim Harkins.

Survivors include her Daughters Sheila Johnson and husband Cal of Sulphur, and Sharon Smith and Randy Ogletree of Healdton; Son Chris Teague and wife Wendy of Runaway Bay, TX; Sister, Peggy Fore and husband Harry of Ardmore; Brother, Bill Harkins and wife Margie of Lone Grove; 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and 1 other Great Grandchild on the way; Many other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Casey Worsham, Dylan Smith, Cody Teague, Curt Duck, Jeremiah “Frog” Jones and Dillon Lynch.

Honorary Bearers are Nicole Duck, Kyle Teague, Conner Smith, Maci Duck, Landon Johnson, Madden Duck, Peyton Worsham, Cale Worsham, 1 Great Grand Baby on the Way, and Natalie Worsham and Melissa Johnson.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
