Stephen Wayne Gravitt

Wilson - Military Graveside Services for Mr. Stephen "Steve" Wayne Gravitt, 70 of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Steve was born in Ardmore, OK on January 1, 1951 to the late Mr. Thomas Earl Gravitt and Mrs. Elvie Delene (Hunt) Gravitt. He departed from this life at his home on Saturday, March 13, 2021 after a long battle with multiple myeloma cancer.

Steve was raised in Dickson graduating from Dickson High School in 1969. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged in 1972. Steve married the former Ms. Darlena Thoroughman on November 11, 1983 in Gainesville, TX and they were blessed with one son, Catlin. He worked for Michelin his whole life retiring after 38 years of service. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and his cattle.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Dana Gonzales.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Darlena of the home; sons, Stephen Gravitt, Jr of Ardmore, Bo Gravitt of Ardmore and Catlin Gravitt of Wilson; daughter, Susan Gravitt of Ardmore; 7 grandchildren, Rebekah, Victoria, Morgan, Rachel, Katie, Lilli, and Cole; and by a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
