Walter Clifford Porterfield

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mr. Walter Clifford Porterfield, 74 of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Foy "Kim" Beshears, Chris Beshears and Jake Beshears all officiating.  Interment will follow to Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton with Military Honors.

Walter was born October 16, 1948 in Waurika, OK to the late Mr. Hearl Preston Porterfield and Mrs. Ineta Grace (Mason) Porterfield.  He departed from this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at his home. 

Walter was raised in Healdton attending and graduating from Healdton High School with the class of 1967.  He served honorably in the United States Army and in the Oklahoma National Guard for a total of 21 years retiring in June of 1997.  Walter married the former Ms. Peggy Gayle Ballard on August 2, 1969 in Healdton, OK.  To this union, they were blessed with 4 children, Eric, Angela, Amber, and Zack.  He worked the majority of his life in the oilfield as a lease operator.  When he retired, Walter was working for Texaco.  He enjoyed gardening, all and any arts and crafts that he shared and gave to others as gifts.  Walter was a member of the Shell Street Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Roy, Jimmy, Bobby, Richard, and Roger Porterfield.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Peggy of the home; daughters, Angela Porterfield of Healdton and Amber Lowe and husband Travis of Dickson; sons, Eric Porterfield and wife Crystal of Stonewall and Zack Porterfield and wife Andrea of Madill; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and by a host of other family and friends.
