Wanda Fern Owen

Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. Wanda Fern (Gregory) Owen, 84, of Healdton is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Healdton. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery of Healdton. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Fern was born September 7, 1928 at Saint Jo, TX to the late Mr. Fleming Edward Gregory and Mrs. Etta Marie (Dean) Gregory. She departed this life Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Spring, TX.

Fern was raised in Saint Jo, TX attending school there. She married Mr. Leonard Evan Owen on March 25, 1949 at Gainesville, TX. They resided at numerous places before finally settling in Healdton in 1967. Fern was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Healdton. She was a homemaker and a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. She also enjoyed participating in a local Bunco Group.

Preceding her in death is her Parents and Two Daughters, Linda Cumpton and Jeannine Baird.

Survivors include her loving husband Mr. Leonard E. Owen of Houston, TX; Son, Mr. Greg Owen and wife Ann of The Woodlands, TX; Son In law, Jim Cumpton of Ardmore; Brother, Don Gregory and wife Peggy of Flower Mound, TX; Grandchildren, John Cumpton and wife Stephanie of Houston, TX, Jason Cumpton and wife Stacy of Oklahoma City, Kirk Baird and wife Lindsey, Andy Baird and wife Melissa, Scott Baird, Madeline Owen, and Evan Owen all of the Houston area. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are the Grandson, John Cumpton, Jason Cumpton, Kirk Baird, Andy Baird, Scott Baird and Evan Owen.

In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to be made the First United Methodist Church of Healdton P.O. Box 456 Healdton, OK 73438.

Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Wed. evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
