Willard Dean Davis

Ringling – Graveside ceremony services for Mr. Willard Dean Davis, 81, formerly of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, Jan. 16, 2023 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. Family and friend's visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at noon. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Willard was born March 8, 1941 at Ringling to the late Mr. Warren D. Davis and Mrs. Minnie Ozella (Allen) Davis. He departed this life on Wed. Jan. 11, 2023 at his home in Oklahoma City.

Willard was raised at Ringling until the age of 7 years old when his family moved to Oklahoma City. He graduated from Capitol High and soon after began employment with Wilson’s Foods. There he worked for many years until its closing and thereafter gained a position with Park’s and Recreation department for the City of Oklahoma City. He retired after several years of employment.

Willard always said he was “Stuck in the 50’s”, loving older music and classic cars. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed joking with everyone. In his younger years he enjoyed many trips to Washita River, fishing with his father. Willard was of the Christian faith always watching church television with Bob Long every Sunday.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his 1st child, Warren James Davis, 1962; brother, Shiral Davis and a grandson, Christopher Lane.

Survivors include his daughters, Deana Merriman and Sherrie Herndon and husband Richard, both of Oklahoma City; Son, Warren Davis and wife Emily of Yukon; sister Debbie Harper of Oklahoma City; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be family members.
