Healdton - Funeral Services for Winifred Clark Kimmell, 91, will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton, officiated by her grandson Joseph Dickinson, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore, Oklahoma.


Winifred was born November 9, 1932 in Newkirk, Oklahoma to Clyde and Mary (Wise) Bryson. Winifred attended school at Newkirk, Oklahoma graduating in 1950 and marrying her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth Melvin Kimmell on September 2, 1950.


Being a stay-at-home mom while her children were young, she enjoyed a job history as a Telephone Operator with Southwestern Bell, Assembly Line Worker for Stromberg Carlson, Assistant City Clerk for the City of Healdton and Accounts Payable Clerk for Sutherland Well Service where she retired in 1992.


Winnie was a member of Healdton Assembly of God Church and enjoyed family vacations with her husband and children. She was a pool shark and loved to challenge anyone with a game and usually won. She was a devoted wife and a very loving mom, grandma and (GG) great grandma. She loved her family dearly. She was a remarkable cook and could make a meal out of almost anything. She was named very early on as "a good cooker."


Some of her hobbies included traveling with her husband, shopping with her granddaughters, cooking, baking and playing board games and dominos. She took pride in her yard and had a beautiful garden in which she enjoyed working. She loved collecting river rocks from places she traveled.


Winifred was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Kenneth Melvin Kimmell, her parents Clyde and Mary Bryson, infant son Roy Wayne Kimmell, son Rodney Kimmell, sister Joann (Blount) Bravenec and brother Bernard Bryson. 

She is survived by her daughters Nancy Percival and Husband Harold of Mustang, Oklahoma, Judy Dickinson and Janice Kimmell both of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Daughter-in-law Carrie Kimmell of Stinnett, Texas, sister Virginia Simmons of Arkansas City, Kansas, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.


Pallbearers are John Dickinson, Jason Richardson, Wesley Kimmell, Josh Mays, Clay Deering, and Kelly Bryson,


Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Dickinson, Harold Percival, Jeremy Eaves and Derek Fairweather.


The family would like to give thanks to the friends and neighbors who visited her while in the hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Peery, Kathryn and Brandi at Mercy Spine Surgery, the nursing staff on the 3rd and 5th floor of Mercy Memorial Hospital- Ardmore and the nursing staff at Mercy Memorial Hospital-Healdton for their professional and loving caring during this difficult time.


And special friends at Cross Timbers Hospice Matt, Dorothy, Sarah, Rachel, Leta and Jimmie.


 In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cross Timbers Hospice.
