Adolfo Barrera Ramon

September 22, 1951 — September 10, 2025

Services for Adolfo Barrera Ramon, 73, of Burneyville, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Lawrence Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery.

Adolfo was born September 22, 1951, in Roby, TX. to the late Mr. Manuel Cantu Ramon and Mrs. Rafaela Barrera Ramon. He went to his heavenly home on September 10, 2025.

Raised in Rotan, TX, Adolfo participated in all school sports as well as Little League Baseball, competing on Summer League teams.  After he received his first B B Gun, his love for hunting began.  It was at this time, he learned to fish and would go everyday if possible.  When his family relocated to Leon, Oklahoma, Adolfo continued his love for fishing, hunting, and playing ball, making many friends and was given the name "fish". It may have been for his fishing skills, but he said that it was because his hair made a fishtail in the back. His high school years were completed at Turner High School where he graduated with the class of 1972. After graduation Adolfo tried out for the Kansas City Royals, showcasing his determination and love for the game.  For many years he played for various softball leagues.

On May 24, 1973, Adolfo married the love of his life, the former Miss Debbie Adams, at the Lake Murray Chapel. Their union was a beautiful partnership that flourished for over 52 wonderful years. The couple made their home in Burneyville, where Adolfo began his working career at Falconhead Resort as a groundskeeper. His dedicated work ethic led him to positions at Marietta Sports Wear, commonly known as the pants factory, and later at Robertson's Hams meat market, from where he ultimately retired. Throughout his life, Adolfo exemplified commitment to his work and community. Adolfo was a passionate sports fan, supporting the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and Oklahoma City Thunder. His enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his love for the great outdoors. He cherished moments spent fishing, particularly catfishing, and relished the opportunity to go deer and mushroom hunting with his family. One of his fondest recent memories was spending quality time with his youngest grandson, sharing the simple joy of feeding cows together. Adolfo was a member of the Burneyville Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Manuel and Rafaela Ramon; sister, Josie Powell; brother-in-law, Jeff Reece.
