Alvin Mack Whitener

Alvin Mack Whitener, born on February 9, 1955, in Orr, OK to the late Mr. Perry Nathaniel Whitener and Mrs. Ovella Claire (Phillips) Whitener.  He passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, in the same town where his journey began. He was a man known for his love of simple things, a quality that endeared him to all who knew him.

Alvin was raised in Orr, OK, where he developed a deep connection to the land and nature around him. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, activities that brought him peace and joy throughout his life.

He will be dearly missed by his surviving sisters, Virginia Tucker and Shirley Perry (Roy), along with numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly. Alvin is now reunited in heaven with his beloved parents, brothers Corbin, Gary, David, and Thomas, as well as his sister Edna. The memories they created together will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Alvin's life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Crow Cemetery with Larry Terry officiating.  The service will begin at 10:00 AM and offer an opportunity for family and friends to pay their final respects to a man who touched the lives of many.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling. 

In conclusion, Alvin Mack Whitener leaves behind a legacy of simplicity, love for nature, and cherished memories with those he held dear. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace as he embarks on his next great adventure beyond this earthly realm surrounded by the love of family and friends.
