Anita "Lynn" Butler

Funeral services for Anita "Lynn" (McKay) Butler, 75, of Overbrook, are set for 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Merrick Drive Church of Christ. Officiating will be Claude Williams and River Elliott. Interment will follow at Crinerville Cemetery, under the care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home, Wilson.

Born on January 15, 1951, in Gainesville, Texas, Lynn was the daughter of Frank Marshall McKay and Betty Sue (Willis) McKay. She passed away on August 12, 2026, in Ardmore, OK.

Raised in Marietta, Lynn attended Turner schools and married Lester Allen Butler at 16 on December 22, 1967, at her parents' house in Marietta. She graduated from Turner High School in 1969 while Lester was in Vietnam. Post-discharge, they settled in Criner Hills. Lynn dedicated 27 years as a veterinary assistant at Ardmore Animal Hospital, later serving three years in an elementary lunchroom at Plainview. Her passions included cooking, notably homemade ice cream and country meals for Family Dinners. Alongside Lester, she worked on their farm, caring for animals, gardening, and sewing. Above all, Lynn cherished her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Connie McKay, and very best friend and companion, Paris. 

Lynn is survived by her husband Lester of the home; sons Lyndal Butler (Mary) and Lance Butler (Kari Ann), all residing in Criner Hills. She leaves behind siblings, Charles McKay, Luann McMillin (Ricky), and Willis McKay (Mary) of Marietta; grandchildren Kari Butler, Emily Anita Elliott (River), Hannah Butler, Dalton Davis (Hollie), and Ross Davis (Katilyn); great-grandchildren Makenzli, Rhett, Trinity, Owen, Blakesley, Adalley, Rory, Cara, and Dottie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers are Dalton Davis, River Elliott, Michael Campbell, Nic McMillin, Kaysen McMillin, and Blake Rudd, with honorary bearers being Lester, Lyndal and Lance's friends.
