Anita Fern Emberlin

Anita Fern Emberlin, 82, of Healdton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on August 17, 2026. She was born September 29, 1943, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Floyd Emberlin; her mother, Lona Mary (Nordman) Emberlin; and her brother-in-law, Jim Yancy.

 Anita was a steady force in her family — the one who held everyone together. Direct and plain-spoken, she said what she meant and always put the needs of others before her own. The first in her family to earn a master’s degree, she went on to complete two. A twice-retired teacher and librarian, she found joy in reading, genealogy, and painting. Charitable by nature and strong in her Christian faith, Anita was comforted knowing she was bound for Heaven. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. 

She is survived by her sisters, Linda Yancy and Robbie McKibban (and husband Bob McKibban); her nieces and nephews, Bob Yancy and wife Kristi, Jemma Yancy Thomas and husband Chris, Terry Yancy, Carol McKibban Murray, and Darrell McKibban; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Shannon Yancy Thomas and husband Chris, Lance Yancy and wife Lauren, Lauren Murray, Trevor McKibban and wife Alysia, Kaitlyn McKibban, Mackenzie Yancy, Allie Camp Deakle and husband Jack, Janie Thomas, Sarah Grace Thomas, and Hannah Thomas; and her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Leah Jones, Cooper Deakle, Carter Deakle, Lucas Thomas, Charlie Thomas, Cooper Yancy, Calvin Yancy, Hattie Yancy, Scout McKibban, and Rhett Gill; as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory in Healdton.
