Velma - Funeral Service for Mrs. Annie Maude (Hill) Harrell, 87 of Velma are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., January 26, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Velma with Kerry Glasgow officiating and Wayne Childers assisting. Interment will follow to New Velma Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
Annie was born on September 22, 1934, in Erick, OK to the late Mr. Calvin McCune Hill and was raised by her and her stepmother, Mary Elizabeth Hill. She departed from this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in Duncan, OK.
Annie was raised on a farm and attended school at Dabney School near Erick, OK graduating from Erick High School with a class roll of 27. She moved to Oklahoma City with her brother, Milton Lee "ML" and his wife Doris where she worked for John E. Wolffe Advertising Co. Soon after, she met the love of her life and married Mr. Richard C. Harrell, Jr. on December 3, 1954, in Oklahoma City, OK. Richard and Annie made their home in Oklahoma City until 1966 when they moved to Pampa, TX before making their home in Velma in 1972. Annie was a devoted homemaker raising her two sons, Rick and Mike. She enjoyed card and board games and all the Oklahoma Sport teams. Annie loved her church, her Sunday School class and attending trips they often went on and fellowship at the Senior Citizens Center that she looked forward to weekly. She was a member of Velma Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Richard on July 27, 2021; son, Rick Harrell; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Annie is survived by her son, Mike Harrell of Velma; granddaughter, Jessie Robbins and husband Greg of Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law, Patricia Pearce of Moore, OK; brother-in-law, Gary Harrell of Converse, TX; and by a host of other family, friends, and church family.
Casket bearers will be, Shawn Shattuck, Ronnie Wright, Lee Elliott, Brandon Sanner, Mickey Pruitt and Dereck McPherson.
Honorary bearers will be Casey Estep, Brett Woods, Josh McClain, Seth Teasley, Jerry Loveall and Jesse Peterson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
