Annie Mae (Newell) Labeth

November 17, 1939 — August 27, 2025

Annie Mae Labeth was received in the arms of her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2025, at the age of 85. She was surrounded by family and covered in prayer by many people.

Annie was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on November 17, 1939, to W.W. and Cleta Newell. She attended school in Simon, then attended high school in Wilson, where she met the love of her life, Gary Gene Labeth. The two graduated in May 1958 and were married on September 15, 1958. They moved to Oklahoma City, where she supported Gary by taking care of the home and eventually becoming a loving mother to her three children. As Gary, Annie, and their family moved to different locations around Oklahoma for his career in education, they were consistently involved in the Churches of Christ and serving the community wherever they were. Annie attended services regularly, most recently in Marietta, and she taught Ladies’ Bible Class for many years. She helped prepare and serve numerous meals for grieving families as funerals occurred at the church. She taught children’s Bible classes and encouraged many young mothers as they were raising their children to walk in faith. When she wasn’t serving others, Annie enjoyed quilting, tending her garden, reading, watching OU Football, and spending time with her loved ones.

Annie was an incredible support to many, especially her family. She was known as being a devoted wife, a caring and supportive mother, and an attentive and fun Nannie to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her gentle kindness and servant heart will leave a legacy and inspiration for many years to come.

Loved ones left behind include children Gary Scott and Gwen Labeth of Jay, FL, Mark and Laura Labeth of Edmond, OK, Terri Labeth of Falconhead, OK, and Billy Rowan of Duncan, OK; grandchildren Shane and Melissa Labeth, Charlie and Jessica Adams, Ty Labeth, Rafael and Tara Espindola, Bree Labeth, Cord and Hailee Gross, Jared and Abby McKinney, Melanie Anwar; great-grandchildren Erica, Brock, Sally, Annabeth, Arther, Zadie, Millie, Dagny, and Calvin; and great-great granddaughter Noah. She also had many people that she welcomed as family: Claudia Labeth, Marie Sharp, Wanda Yount, Margaret Sampson, Finley and Sharon Morgan, Biff and Val Eck, Greg, Jenny, Ashley, and Jamie Hambrick, Jack Buben, and many more.

Annie will be honored in a celebration of life on Saturday, Sept.20 at 10am at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson, OK.
