Arlon Dale was born July 3, 1953, at Wilson to the late Mr. James Knox Chapman and Mrs. Rita Gayle (Smith) Chapman. He departed this life Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home in Wilson.
Arlon Dale was a man of simple pleasures and strong character, whose life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his community. Raised in Wilson, he attended Wilson Public Schools before embarking on a lifelong career in the oilfield industry. Outside of his demanding career, Arlon Dale found joy and satisfaction in the simple activities that brought him closer to nature and family. His passions included gardening and fishing, hobbies that allowed him to unwind while nurturing the environment around him. Known for his hands-on nature, he enjoyed tinkering and piddling outdoors, always keen to stay busy with projects or repairs. He was an exceptional cook and also explored quilting, not merely as a pastime, but as another testament to his commitment to staying busy.
