Barbara Lee Vik

Barbara Lee (desGarennes) Vik, 84, of Loco, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Mercy Hospital, Ardmore Ok. Barbara was born August 1, 1941, at Terra Alta West Virginia, to the late Mr. Stephen desGarennes and Mrs. Rosemary (Zeller) desGarennes.

Barbara resided in West Virginia, and New York before settling down in Loco, Oklahoma. Barbara attended Islip High School. During her high school years, she was a sports enthusiast and played saxophone in the band. She was a passionate equestrian, winning several ribbons and awards. An animal lover and rescue magnet, she helped all and adopted several animals. Barbara worked in the legal profession in all phases of law. Barbara and Martin were united in marriage in Maryland and settled in Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, Barbara and Martin had several horses and multiple dogs and cats. 

Barbara's decision to donate her body to science is an altruistic act that provides invaluable resources for medical education research, and the development of new treatments. Serving as a “silent teacher” for future doctors and researchers.

Preceding her in death are parents, Stephen and Rosemary desGarennes; her husband Martin Vik; brother Stephen desGarennes Jr. (Beau)

Survivors include her loving children, Eugene and wife Tracey Corulla, of Easton Pa; Cynthia Corulla, of Easton Pa; Rudy Corulla, of Staten Island, New York; Kim and husband Spencer Clareen, of Richmondville, New York; Mark Corulla, of Sundown, New York; grandchildren, Danielle, Andreanna, Francine, Mark, Nadine, Samantha, Jessica, Christina, Ashley, Spencer Jr; 9 great grandchildren; Niece, JoAnn and Nephew, Iggy; and numerous friends. And loved by all.
