Betty Ann (Benton) Lyle, aged 87, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore. Born on April 7, 1937, in Cornish, she was the cherished daughter of the late Mr. Lloyd Robert Benton and Mrs. Nettie Mable (King) Benton.

Betty grew up in Ringling and also spent time in California, where she developed a love for life that stayed with her until the very end. At just 17 years old, she embarked on a beautiful journey of love when she married her husband, Roy Lyle, on November 24, 1954, in Orr, OK, also known as Brushy Mound. Their marriage spanned nearly 70 wonderful years, filled with countless cherished memories. As a devoted military spouse, Betty travelled with Roy during his time in the U.S. Army, experiencing life in various locations across the country.

Betty had a rich and fulfilling career, working at the El Ranchero Theater and later at Moore Drug in Ringling. In addition to her professional life, she nurtured an array of personal passions. Betty was particularly fascinated by the paranormal, actively participating as a member of the Oklahoma Paranormal Association, which hosted monthly meetings in Ardmore. She also contributed to the Bigfoot Sighting Research Group, showcasing her adventurous spirit.

One of her greatest hobbies was studying genealogy, a pursuit that resonated deeply with her, as family bonds were of utmost importance to her. She treasured the time spent with her relatives and found immense joy in uncovering the stories of those who came before her.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Barbara Eppler and Wilma Benton; her brother, Gary Lloyd Benton; and her cherished grandparents, Mama and Papa King, as well as her grandma, Maggie.

Those left to honor and remember her include her devoted husband, Roy Lyle of the home; her beloved nieces and nephew, Jeri, Steve, Shelley, and Mandy; numerous cousins; and a vast network of friends and extended family who will greatly miss her presence.
