Betty Laverne Sutton

Funeral services for Betty Laverne (Fore) Sutton, age 96, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Loco Baptist Church. The services will be officiated by Dr. Robert L. Wilson, with assistance from Rev. Randy Southerland. Interment will follow at Loco Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Born on May 10, 1930, in Dixie, OK, to Jess Fore and Vesta Cyrilla (Scott) Fore, Betty passed away on October 5, 2026, in Duncan, OK. Raised in Dixie, she attended a one-room schoolhouse before moving on to Fox High School. She pursued higher education in English at ECU. On November 6, 1949, she married Edward Royce Sutton in Mountain Grove, OK, and together they established their home and ranch in Loco.

Betty dedicated her life as a stay-at-home wife and mother, known for her passion in gardening, canning, and gathering pecans for Christmas. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Loco, she participated annually in Falls Creek, contributing by cooking and meal preparation.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Edward Royce Sutton, who passed on April 5, 2022. Betty is survived by her son, Eddie Sutton and wife Charla; daughter, Nancy Knutson and husband Glenn; sister, Jean Watts; grandchildren, Celes Sutton, Kyla Sutton, Katrina Knutson, and Glenn Knutson, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Bryar, Sutton, Trinity, Annie, Nellie, and Charley, along with many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Biffle, Allan Murray, Mike Whithead, Kelby Loring, Donnie Sutton, and John Minor. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
