Bobby Gene Nickell

Private graveside services for Bobby Gene Nickell (Gene), age 80, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Hewitt Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Bobby Gene Nickell was born on October 21, 1945, in Purcell, Oklahoma, to the late Claude Wallace Nickell and Dessie Pauline Clark Nickell. He peacefully passed away on November 21, 2025, in Silsbee, Texas.A veteran of the United States Air Force Reserves, Bobby served honorably from 1974 to 1980. He married Rita Kay Thoroughman on December 30, 1989, who sadly preceded him in death on April 17, 1996. Throughout his career, Bobby worked as automotive paint and body specialist at Holders Auto Body, in the oilfield, as a truck driver, and most notably as a frac supervisor with Halliburton.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rita, and his sister, Claudette Wilson.

He leaves behind his daughters, Gina Kay Biegalski (husband Patrick) and Karen Jeanne Wilson (husband Jerry "Bubba"); son, Jimmy Gene Nickell (wife Tammy); brothers, David Nickell (Wife Deanna) and W.T. Nickell (wife Betty); along with six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a multitude of family and friends who will cherish his memory.
