Obituary

Cade Garrison Turpin, beloved son, brother, and grandson, was born to Meredith Grace Presley Turpin and Dustin Levi Turpin on November 17, 2009, and went to be with his Lord on June 17, 2026, in his hometown of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 16 years, 7 months, with his lifelong friends by his side.

Lovingly known as “Turp,” “Bubs,” and “Bubba,” Cade was an avid outdoorsman who loved riding ATVs, hunting turkey, ducks, and deer, and fishing by hand, rod, and any other (legal) way to catch fish. Many of his favorite days were spent in the woods, on the river, and in the lake with his friends and family. When asked why he liked to get up early, in the cold, to hunt, he would say that it wasn’t about a successful hunt, it was the experience of being there that he loved most. Cade was a true sportsman who advocated for the outdoors and loved to teach his friends everything he learned from his dad, Dado Dennis, and cousin Avery.

Cade was also a life-long athlete who loved sports and was a cherished member of the Lone Grove High School baseball program and the Lone Grove High School football team. His love for his teammates and the brotherhood he felt with them was the highlight of his teenage years, and a testament to the wonderful friends, coaches, and mentors he was blessed to have. There was hardly a baseball game that his Granddad Gary wasn’t sitting behind the plate filming every at bat—Granddad was his #1 fan and shared his love of baseball with Cade from tee-ball to travel ball to varsity.

Cade finished his freshman year of high school at Lone Grove an honor student and member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; he was widely known for his beautiful smile, his kind heart, his loyalty, support and willingness to stand up for others, his wonderful sense of humor, and a large circle of friends from every part of his life. He was well liked, deeply loved, and will be immensely missed by so many from his school, church groups, and community.

At home, Cade was the best big bubba to his little sister, Ivy James, who followed him and his friends everywhere they went, whether they wanted her to or not. Ivy, his mom, and his dogs, Roose, Riley, Roxie, and Millie Mouse, will miss his smile, big hugs, and pets every day until they see him again.

Cade is survived by his mom, Meredith Grace Presley Turpin, his dad, Dustin Levi Turpin, and his little sister, Ivy James Turpin; his maternal grandparents, Gary and Shelley Presley ("Granddad and Grandma"), with whom he had many wonderful adventures; his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Connie Turpin ("Dado and Nana"), whose cooking he loved best; his Aunt Cassie Wharton and Uncle Tony Wharton, and his cousin, best friend and honorary sister, Avery Lee Wharton; his Aunt Carrie Burden and Uncle Steven Burden; his cousin Jacqlyn Brooks and her husband, Jacob Brooks, and their son, Bowen Brooks; his maternal great-grandmother Jerry Bodkin ("Great Grandma"); many great-aunts and uncles, and cousins; and so many friends from Lone Grove, Dickson, and everywhere he has been. He was met in heaven by his uncle, Mason Presley, his great-grandparents, and many great aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Cade’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lone Grove on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 2PM. Honorary pallbearers include the Lone Grove Baseball Team, the Lone Grove Football Team, and many, many friends who are too numerous to name. A public visitation will be held at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 6-7PM. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lone Grove Athletic Booster Club at PO Box 1393, Lone Grove, Oklahoma 73443.
