Cathy Ann (Adams) Shepard

Memorial service for Cathy Ann (Adams) Shepard, 81, of Wilson, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Luster officiating.

Cathy was born January 13, 1945, at Piqua, Ohio, to the late Ms. Helen June (Lane) Adams. She departed this life Monday, September 28, 2026, in Oklahoma City.

Cathy was raised in Ohio and moved to California as a young child, where she lived in the Los Angeles area. On March 16, 1963, she married Charles Lee Shepard in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in California before moving to Wilson in 1979. Cathy worked for many years as an activity director at Wilson Nursing Home, serving with care and dedication until her retirement. She will be remembered for the kindness and energy she brought to her work and for the many lives she touched along the way. She enjoyed fishing at the Marina at Lake Murray and treasured spending time with family and friends. Those who knew Cathy will remember her as someone who found joy in simple pleasures and in the company of the people she loved.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Helen; husband, Charles Shepard on October 9, 2020; Cathy’s step father; sisters, Sandy Vickers and Carol McFarland; grandson, David Brent Shepard.

Survivors include her three sons, Donald Shepard and wife Margie, David Wayne Shepard, Steve Shepard and wife Lynn all of Wilson; sister, Karl Herrin of Ardmore; grandchildren, Randy, Levi, Steven, Taylor, Brittany, and Malorie; 8 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
