Services for Cecil Howell, 53, of Norman, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton with Justin Smith officiating.  Cremation will follow at the Alexander Gray Crematory.  

Cecil was born April 21, 1972, at Duncan, to Mr. Wayland Davidson Howell, Jr. and Mrs. Linda Kay (Trantham) Howell.  He departed this life Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Norman, OK.

Raised in Empire, Cecil graduated with the class of 1991, where he distinguished himself not only as a dedicated student but also as an exceptional athlete. His excellence in sports was evident; he excelled in track and football, earning recognition as the State Champion in Long Jump and being selected for the prestigious 1990 All Area Player of the Year Class A in football. These achievements reflected not only his talent but also his commitment and determination. Following high school, Cecil embarked on a lifelong career in plumbing, a field in which he consistently utilized his skills and contributed to his community. Most recently, he was proudly working as an estimator for NexGen Plumbing Services in Norman, OK. Outside of his career, Cecil was a man of many passions. He found joy in sports and had a particular fondness for fishing and watching suspenseful thrillers. His enthusiasm for life was reflected in his love for fireworks, which he always ensured providing a great display for family and friends. The annual tradition of dyeing eggs every Easter showcased his playful spirit, while his talent for grilling steaks always made family gatherings great. Cecil was also known for his festive nature, decorating his home exuberantly for all holidays, especially Christmas, bringing joy to those who admired his efforts. He took pride in maintaining an immaculate yard, a testament to the care and dedication he put into every aspect of his life. He leaves behind a legacy characterized by his love for family, commitment to his passions, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Linda; grandparents, Cecil and Dorothy Trantham, Wayland, Sr. and Betty Howell; half-sister, LeAnn Slate.

Survivors include his daughter, Macey Fulton and husband Carson of Yukon and her mom, Misty (Miller) Howell of Healdton;  sons, C.J. Howell and his mother, MeLynda Phipps of Empire and Kyle Howell of Norman, OK; dad, David Howell of Norman; brother, Davy Howell and wife Regina of Norman; other siblings, Melissa Hudson and husband Lee, Gary Don Smith and wife Felicia, Scott Smith and wife Mindy, Paul Brown and wife Stacy; significant other, Kristy Kleimann of El Reno; numerous other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Carson Fulton, C.J. Howell, Davy Howell, Dalton Howell, and Paul Brown.

Honorary bearers are Cecil's NexGen Plumbing Services co-workers.

Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 P.M., Monday evening, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton.
