Conni Jean (Hedge) Garrison Ortiz, born on March 13, 1978, in Fort Worth, TX, she left this world on July 26, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a profound appreciation for nature.

Her journey began in Bedford, and as a young girl, she started her school years in Azle, Texas. In 1990, her family made a significant move to Ardmore, where Conni grew up, embracing the beauty of her surroundings and the warmth of community. On September 24, 1998, Conni married Mr. Wayne Garrison, and together they raised six beautiful children together, creating treasured memories that would last a lifetime. Wayne preceded her in death in 2017, marking a profound loss for Conni and their children. In the face of adversity, Conni demonstrated an unwavering spirit and an ability to find love once again. On July 1, 2022, she married Mr. Ricky Ortiz in Healdton, beginning a new chapter filled with joy and companionship. Conni's love for nature and animals was a defining aspect of her personality. She found solace in rehabilitating animals and took special delight in feeding the birds that visited her home. Her enthusiasm for the outdoors was evident in her passion for lakes, sunsets, and the thrill of chasing storms, experiences that brought her immense joy. In her moments of leisure, Conni expressed her creativity through music, enjoying the soothing sounds of singing and playing the harmonica. She also had a playful side, often immersing herself in games of Farkle, sometimes playing until the sun rose. A remarkable cook, she had the unique ability to craft full meals from minimal ingredients, showcasing her resourcefulness and talent in the kitchen. Guided by the mantra “ride your own wave,” Conni embraced life on her terms, leaving those who knew her inspired by her strength and authenticity. Above all, her greatest love was reserved for her grandchildren, who were the central joy of her life. Conni Jean (Hedge) Garrison Ortiz will be remembered not only for her compassionate spirit and lively personality but also for the love she shared with her family and friends.
