Danny was born on September 24, 1954, at Ardmore, to the late Mr. Joe Cameron Bray and Mrs. Francis Lorene (Stevens) Montgomery. He departed this life November 19, 2025, at his home in Wilson.

Raised in the community of Healdton, Danny attended school there proudly graduating with the class of 1972. During his high school years, he contributed to the Holder Family Business, at Walt’s Quick Check, where he developed a strong work ethic that would carry him through his life. Following graduation, Danny began his professional journey as a welder until he found his calling in the oilfield industry, beginning his career employed by Nubs Well Service where he worked as a floor hand on a rig. Over the years, he worked with various oilfield companies, including Sutherland Well Services Inc., and dedicated himself to his craft until his retirement in July of 2024. On February 14, 1974, Danny married the former Ms. Diane Williams, and together they welcomed two beautiful children, Dachelle and Dusty. Later in life, Danny found love once more and married Ms. Danell Vernon on March 14, 1997, gaining two more children, Corey and Cody Ponder, who enriched his life further. Danny was known not only for his storytelling and pranks but also for the genuine care he extended to those around him. He filled every gathering with joy, ensuring that there was never a dull moment. An avid admirer of classic films, Danny found great pleasure in watching John Wayne movies and other classic westerns. He was an avid reader of anything written by Louis L’Amour. Above all else, Danny adored spending time with his family and friends, camping, fishing, and hunting. He treasured the bonds he built, knowing that his family was the center of his world. His warmth, humor, and love of life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
