Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Helen "Denise" (Wilson) Holt, 71, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Roger Sims and Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.

Denise was born on Oct. 4, 1954 to the late Mr. Robert L. "Bob" Wilson and Mrs. Lawana Lucille (Crabb) Wilson. She went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 1, 2026 at her home.

Denise Holt, a lifelong resident of Wilson, passed away after a life marked by dedication to her community and family. She completed her education in Wilson, graduating from high school in 1972. Denise began her professional career with Longest Insurance Agency at a young age and later became an independent insurance agent. From 1986 to 1992, she owned and operated the Wilson Insurance Agency.

In 1992, Denise transitioned to a management role at Southern Vending, overseeing operations at the Michelin Tire Plant. She concluded her professional career working in the office at Dr. Wallace's until her retirement in 2016.

On April 26, 2008, Denise married William L. "Bill" Holt at their home in Lone Grove. They shared a deep bond, traveling extensively and cherishing time spent with their grandchildren and family events.

Denise was passionate about gardening, known for her green thumb, and had a fond affection for her chickens. A devout Christian, she devoted herself to daily devotional study and was actively involved in volunteer work. She generously contributed her time to several organizations, notably the Wilson Historical Museum, where she enjoyed spending time with friends. Additionally, Denise served on the Carter County Election Board, supporting voting activities at the River of Life Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Bob and Lawana Wilson and an infant sister, Terri Lynn.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bill of the home; son, Zane Gray and wife Sherry of Wilson; grandchildren, Garren Gray and wife Darian of Wilson, Hailey Pletcher and husband Dylan of Lone Grove, Kelby Gray of Wilson, Blade Gray and wife Katie of Stobtown, Austyn Gray, Peyton Luke Gray and Creedence Gray of Wilson, Tetiana Polykova and husband Oleksii of Wilson; great grandchildren, Lexi, Londynn, Landon, Coy, Gunner, Grayson, Jax, Layla and Cassidy, Khloe, Elayna and Wrenlee; cousins in law, Miosha King, John Hill, Mike Hill, Karla Campbell and Randy Ragsdale; numerous other family and close friends.

Casket Bearers are Dylan Pletcher, Ronnie Byrd, Richard Cox, Garren Gray, Kelby Gray, Peyton Luke Gray and Creede Gray.

Honorary bearers are her friends from Bunko, Board members Wilson Historical Museum and her class of 1972.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
