Wilson- Dennis Carl Cook, 72, of Wilson, was born May 21, 1954, at Oak Cliff, TX to the late Mr. Homer Carl Cook and Mrs. Mydwin Maxine (Smith) Cook. He departed this life July 13, 2026, at his home in Wilson.

Dennis’s formative years were spent in Richardson, TX and Lancaster, TX. Growing up, he experienced frequent moves as his father’s work took the family to new places. These early changes no doubt nurtured in him a remarkable adaptability and a strong family bond that would grace his entire life. At just sixteen, Dennis made the extraordinary decision to join the United States Army. He served two tours in the prestigious Green Beret Special Forces and Tunnel Rat., demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his country and developing a sense of discipline and camaraderie that would serve him well throughout his life. Upon his honorable discharge, Dennis returned home, choosing a path of service once again by working as a mechanic for the Dallas Police Department for approximately four years. In 1985, he married Rebecca Cobb; together they welcomed a son, Brandon Cobb, marking a new beginning. Later, in 2002, Dennis embarked on a new professional chapter as the warehouse foreman at Riggins-Moreland Engineering Company. He remained with the company until 2019, when his declining health required him to step away from work. In his personal life, Dennis found love again with the former Ms. Kathleen Camp. Their unwavering partnership endured for 21 years, culminating in marriage on May 30, 2026, a testament to the deep and lasting affection they shared. Dennis’s interests gave him much happiness over the years. He enjoyed the world of video games—a pastime that brought him relaxation and fun—and was an avid collector of knives, each piece a reflection of his appreciation for craftsmanship and history.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Homer and Mydwin Cook; sister, Linda Zimmerman; sisters-in-law, Pamela Camp and Anna Lampton.
