Donald Ray Daniel

Donald "Don" Ray Daniel, age 66, passed away on August 26, 2025, at his home in Lone Grove, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He was born on October 10, 1958, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the late James Fredrick Daniel and Louise (Jones) Patton.

Don was raised in the Carter County area and graduated from Dickson High School in 1977. In 1982, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably for three years. During his time in the Navy, he specialized in electrical work, a field that he dedicated much of his professional life to after returning home. Don spent over 30 years as an electrician at Quality Electric and retired from Valero in 2021.

Throughout his life, Don was known for his strong work ethic and pride in his work. He was a generous individual, always ready to lend a helping hand without waiting to be asked. In his leisure time, Don enjoyed working on and riding motorcycles and spending hours in his shop, finding joy in projects both big and small.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. He is survived by his children, Kim Smith and husband Terry, Tricia Sanders and husband Chris, Jason Self, and Greg Self; his brothers, James Daniel and wife Marilyn, Gary Daniel, and Hal Daniel-Adock; grandchildren, Samantha Leonard, Cody Leonard, and Adam Smith; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, with Bro. David Sander officiating. A cremation will follow at Alexander Gray Funeral Homes and Crematory in Ringling. Visitation will take place the evening prior, on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Pallbearers will include Chris Sanders, Terry Smith, Jason Self, Greg Self, Brandon Martin, and Mark Ehlo.
