Memorial Services for Mrs. Donnell Ruth Waters, age 62, of Ardmore, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson, with her son Cody Abshire officiating. Cremation services were conducted at Alexander Gray Crematory in Ringling. Inurnment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery.  

Donnell Ruth Waters was born on December 8, 1963, in Ardmore to Mr. Donald Ray Waters and Mrs. Hellen Ruth (Toller) Waters. She peacefully passed away at her home in Ardmore on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Raised in Ardmore, Donnell attended school at Dickson and graduated from Dickson High School in 1982. Shortly thereafter, she married Mr. Phillip Coy Abshire on November 13, 1982, in Ardmore. Together, they made their home in Ardmore and lovingly raised their two sons, Cody and Nicholas.

Donnell held several positions as a secretary in Ardmore and retired from Fox Engineering in 2024 due to health reasons. She had a passion for playing the piano, singing, and enjoyed collecting shoes. She also treasured the years spent supporting and following her sons’ military careers.

Donnell was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Don Waters.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Phil Abshire of Ardmore; her sons, Cody Abshire and his wife Crystal of Ardmore, and Nicholas Abshire and his wife Britteny of Piedmont; grandchildren Hunter, Aisley, Noah, and Thatcher; her brother, Marty Waters of Ardmore; her mother, Hellen Waters of Ardmore; and numerous other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
