Graveside services for Dorothy “Dot” Mae (Ratliff) Walker, 84, of Lone Grove, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 20, 2026, at the West Memorial Cemetery in Lone Grove with Bro. Kevin Wolfe officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
Dot was born May 1, 1941, at Healdton, to the late Mr. John Ratliff and Mrs. Lenora (Pearson) Ratliff. She departed this life Sunday, March 15, 2026, at her home in Lone Grove.
Dot was a proud graduate of Healdton High School, where the foundation of her hardworking spirit was nurtured. In her early years, Dot contributed her talents at Opals Restaurant and the local Drug Store in Ringling, where her warm smile and dedication left a lasting impression on the community. Her entrepreneurial spirit flourished as she went on to own and operate Walker Auto Service for an impressive 26 years and later owned and operated Bar none. Her business ventures showcased her unwavering commitment and leadership. On March 14, 1975, Dot married Jim Walker in Gainesville, Texas, embarking on a lifelong partnership filled with love and mutual respect. As a devoted homemaker, Dot nurtured her family with strength and care, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter. Dot’s passions extended beyond her family and work. She found joy in tending to her yard, indulged in casino visits, embraced shopping excursions, and was a skilled dart player, eventually earning the distinguished position of president of a dart league. Dancing brought her happiness, and she cherished the companionship of her beloved pets, especially her cat, Little Darlin. Above all, Dot treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known as a great momma, she maintained a strict yet loving demeanor; however, when it came to her grandchildren, the rules often gave way to unconditional affection and fun.
Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Lenora Ratliff; husband, James “Jim” Walker on July 10, 2015; son, James Ray Walker II; great granddaughter, Kailea Brown; sister, Gayle Wolfe; brother, Jimmy Ratliff; and son-in-law, Nelson Dixon.
Survivors include her children, Kim Dixon, Shelly Elles and husband Tommy, Johnna Hartsell, Stacey Walker and wife Carol, Kelli McMillen and husband David, and Rusty Walker; sisters, Evelyn Cantwell and Sharon Culver; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, feline companion, Little Darlin; numerous other family, and many friends.
Honorary bearers are her grandsons and granddaughters.
