Services for Ella Lou (Wade) Morris, 95, of Ringling, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ Gospel Tabernacle with Bro. Billy Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery.
Ella Lou (Wade) Morris was born on January 21, 1930, at Ringling, to the late Mr. Charlie Wade and Ara Alice (Hawkins) Wade. She went to her heavenly home on September 18, 2025. A remarkable woman who lived a life filled with love, devotion, and community, Ella leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by those fortunate enough to know her.
Raised at Center Point as one of fourteen children, Ella's early years were shaped by the values of hard work and family, attending school at the local Center Point School. On February 25, 1947, she married Mr. James Morgan Morris in Byers, Texas, a union founded on love and partnership that beautifully spanned decades. Together, they created a warm home in Ringling, where they were blessed with a son, Jimmy Morris. Ella poured her heart into being a devoted wife and mother, embracing the role of a homemaker with passion while raising Jimmy. Ella was a great cook and enjoyed quilting, having learned this art from her beloved mother, and it became a cherished hobby during her life. Music was also a vital part of Ella’s identity; alongside Alpha, Drue, and Colleen, together they formed a quartet that delighted listeners as they performed numerous times on the local radio station. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ Tabernacle in Ringling, Ella affirmed her faith through her baptism on September 1, 1947. Her commitment to her church and community reflected her deep values and established her as a cornerstone of support for those around her. Following the passing of her beloved husband, James, Ella continued the family business, Morris Hardware, which has been a cherished part of the Ringling community since the late 1800s. Ella found joy in the simplicity of life, particularly in her love for fishing. Trout fishing in New Mexico became a favorite pastime for Ella where she often ventured. She also enjoyed the beauty of wildflowers, picking them wherever she traveled.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ara Alice; husband of 60 years, James Morgan Morris on March 31, 2007, brothers, Ozeal, Chesley, Melvin, Orb, L.V., Otto, and Jake; sisters, Beatrice Wade, Thelma Pemberton, Beulah Hammons, Alpha Morris, Drue Patrick, and Ollie Patrick.
