 Lone Grove -Services for Gary Lynn Crosthwait, 73, of Lone Grove, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 20, 2026, at Cheek Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Elmore and Phil Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Keller Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Gary was born September 30, 1952, at Ardmore, to the late Mr. Richard D. Crosthwait and Mrs. Mary Virginia (Loughridge) Crosthwait. He departed this life Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home in Lone Grove.

Raised in Springdale, Gary attended school there until the eighth grade, when he transferred to Dickson, where he excelled academically and graduated as Salutatorian from Dickson High School in 1970. Following high school, he pursued further education at Oklahoma State University (OSU) for four years, a journey during which he met Linda Sue Braswell, the love of his life. Their bond culminated in marriage on May 19, 1973, in Stillwater, beginning a partnership that would be a cornerstone of his life. Gary graduated from OSU in 1974 and embarked on a fulfilling career as an OSU Extension Agent in Cordell. His professional journey took him to various locations where he managed cattle facilities, showcasing his expertise and passion for agriculture. In 1983, he earned his master’s degree from OSU while residing in Poteau and working for the Kerr Foundation, further solidifying his dedication to the farming community. In 1990, Gary returned to the area he loved, taking on the role of manager for Gore's Angus in Ardmore. His knowledge and leadership in the industry were well respected, and he was known for his unwavering commitment to quality and excellence in cattle management. After retiring, Gary embraced a new chapter in his life, building his own cow herd. In this role, he found immense joy and pride in becoming “Cowpa” to his grandchildren. His legacy will forever live on through the values he instilled in his family and the love he shared with them. He was a member of the Cheek Baptist Church. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, R.D. and Virginia Crosthwait; infant brother, Richard D Crosthwait, III; niece, Candace Harper.

Survivors include his three sons, Matt Crosthwait and wife Jennifer of Stillwater, Brian Crosthwait and wife Tabitha of Brown, and Mark Crosthwait of Lone Grove; siblings, Sandra Robinson, Larry Crosthwait and wife Linda K., Bobby Crosthwait and wife Marcia, Margie Dubois and husband Jim, Janice Sliger and husband Ken; grandchildren, Teegin, Ryne, Lauren, Bryson, Destiny, Carli, Riggen, Bailen, and Cutter; great grandchildren, Lakelynn and Brekyn; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Ray Fletcher, Dustin Holt, Marvin Conway, Mickey Williamson, Jim Fesperman, and Johnny Horne.

Honorary bearers are Wes Bowman, Lew Thompson, Jimmy Taliaferro, Harold Newman, all grandsons, and great grandsons.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Thursday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
