Services for George Walter Carlton, 74, of Loco, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the New Beginnings Church in Healdton with Pastor Tommy Savage officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery in Stephens County. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
George was born January 2, 1951, at Oxford, England, to the late Mr. Charles Lewis Carlton and Mrs. Olive Mary (Milborn) Carlton. He departed this life November 18, 2025, at Ardmore,
George's early years were marked by the unique experience of growing up in a military family, which took him to Germany for his formative schooling in kindergarten and first grade. His education continued back in the United States as he settled in Killen, Texas, before transitioning to Thomas Jefferson High School in Washington, where he proudly graduated with the class of 1970. A vibrant spirit, George had a particular passion for roller skating, dedicating many years to competitive roller skating, which he loved deeply. After high school, George directed his energies towards a fulfilling career in construction, becoming known as a reliable handyman and contractor. On April 9, 1979, he married the love of his life, Dawn Bentley, and together they created a warm and loving home in Washington. George was blessed with two wonderful sons, Jason and Jeremy, who were the light of his life. He took great joy in coaching their soccer and baseball teams throughout their childhood, investing time and effort into every game and practice. This commitment to his sons extended into his adoration for his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless treasured moments. In 1994, George made his home in Loco, where he continued his work in maintenance at Wilson Nursing Home, earning the respect and admiration of those around him. A devoted fan of the Seattle Seahawks, George's enthusiasm for the sport was well-known among friends and family, reflecting his larger-than-life personality. George Walter Carlton's legacy is one of love, hard work, and community spirit. He will be remembered fondly for his big heart and the joy he derived from his family, who meant the world to him. His passing leaves a profound hole in the hearts of those who knew him.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Olive Carlton; extended family, Luther and Emily Griffith.
Survivors include his sons, Jason Carlton and wife Tiffany of Tacoma, Washington, and Jeremy Carlton of Healdton; brother, David Carlton and wife Pat of Aberdeen, Washington; sister, Judy Thompson of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, Kayden, and Jayce Carlton; niece, Mary Schmidt and husband Silas; nephews, Paul Thompson, Andy Carlton, and Allen Carlton; great niece, Tameron Thompson; extended family, the Carroll family; numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jason Carlton, Jeremy Carlton, Ryan Carlton, Zach Carlton, Paul Thompson, and Stephen Carroll.
Honorary bearers are Kayden Carlton and Jayce Carlton.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Monday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
