Georgia Lou (Harris) Hodges

Ringling- Burial services for Georgia Lou (Harris) Hodges, 82, of Ringing, are under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery.

Georgia was born February 4, 1941, at Ringling, to the late Mr. Claude Layton Harris and Mrs. Anna Virginia (Downey) Harris. She departed this life Thursday, September 14, 2023 at her home in Ringling.

Georgia was raised in Ringling, attending school and graduating from Mountain Home High School. She married Douglas “Porter” Hodges on August 31, 1974, at Laredo, TX. She worked many years as a book keeper for Fowler Tax Service. In her younger years, Georgia enjoyed bowling with family and friends. She loved being on the ranch with the cows and the pecan bottoms, but also enjoyed going to the casino. Georgia was raised under the Baptist faith but later held membership at the Methodist church.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Claude Layton Harris, Jr., Roy Wayne Harris, and Donald Keith Harris; nephews, Gregory Keith Harris and Keith Harris.

Survivors include her husband Porter Hodges of the home; step daughter, Rusty Hodges of Ringling; Step grandson, Douglas Levy of Hobbs, NM; sister, Barbara Burcham of Oklahoma City; niece, Claudette Cox and husband Mike of Skiatook, OK; sister-in-law, Martha Joe Harris of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
