Harold Raymond Van Buskirk

Newport - Graveside services for Mr. Harold Raymond Van Buskirk, aged 80, of Lone Grove, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Newport Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Wayne and Darryl Howard. The arrangements are entrusted to Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Raymond was born on October 31, 1945, in Lone Grove to the late Rolland B. Van Buskirk and Viola Agnes (Smith) Van Buskirk Anderson. He peacefully departed this life on February 27, 2026, in Ardmore.

Raised in Lone Grove, Raymond joined the United States Army at the age of 18, serving honorably for three years as a vehicle repairman before his discharge on January 21, 1970. Upon returning to Lone Grove, he dedicated his life to farming, ranching, and working in the oilfield. Raymond was a proud resident of Lone Grove who cherished the outdoors, often spending his time caring for his cows and nurturing his land.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bill, Robert, Cecil, John, Joann, Edna, and George.

Raymond is survived by his children, Johnny Van Buskirk of Overbrook, David Van Buskirk, and Sandra Van Buskirk, both of Lone Grove; his sisters, June Farve of Ardmore and Lois Shrouf of Mustang; as well as six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.

Honorary bearers will be John Buchholz and Keith Hayes.
