Hazel was born March 16, 1927, at San Saba, TX, to the late Mr. Earnest Franklin Redmon and Mrs. Grace Effie Redmon. She departed this life Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Ardmore.

Growing up as one of eleven children, Hazel developed a special bond with her father, becoming his little girl and cherishing the memories of her youthful days. In 1951, Hazel united her life with Henry Wesley Walker, and together they embarked on a journey that would bless them with a vibrant household of twelve children. As a devoted homemaker, Hazel poured her heart and soul into raising her family, ensuring that their home was a place of comfort and joy. Her love for farm life was evident in her passion for raising cows, chickens, and pigs. Hazel had a particular affection for horses and demonstrated her remarkable abilities even at the young age of 17, gaining a reputation for her skill in breaking them. This tenacity and commitment to her passions defined her character and influenced the lives of those around her. In her leisure time, Hazel found joy in various pursuits. She excelled in sewing, dedicating hours to create beautiful quilts that were treasured by her family. In more recent years, she embraced the challenges of puzzles and delighted in the pages of the books she read, finding solace in stories that sparked her imagination. Hazel will be remembered not only for her significant contributions to her family and community but also for the love and laughter she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy will live on through the cherished memories held dearly in the hearts of her children and the lives she touched.
